THE CONSTITUTION of THE ASSOCIATION FOR CATHOLIC CHIROPRACTORS PREAMBLE
We, as Catholic Chiropractors in order to develop a Christ centered professional and personal life, and to bring to the art and science of the chiropractic profession the Spirit of Christ, desire to serve the People of God, our Christian communities, and to assist our bishops and our Pope - the Vicar of Christ, with our leadership, especially in the area of expert knowledge, skill and experience as Catholic Chiropractors; do hereby convene and agree to form an organization to be known as the Association for Catholic Chiropractors, and to be governed by the following Constitution and Bylaws.
Article I - Name
This organization shall be known as "The Association for Catholic Chiropractors."
Article II - Purpose
The objectives of the Association for Catholic Chiropractors [AFCC] shall be:
1. To uphold the principles of our Catholic faith, as taught through the magisterium of the Church in our personal life and in our profession life, especially as it relates to the art, science, and practice of the chiropractic profession.
2. To cooperate with the leaders of the Church, other health care providers, scientists, and other professionals in leading the Christian community in applying the principles of faith, hope, charity, and morality, as it relates to the delivery of health care.
3. To lead, cooperate, and support the Chiropractic community-at-large in establishing ethical health care practice principles that will reflect the Church's teachings.
4. To lead and support the Christian community in bringing chiropractic care to all, especially to those in need. To offer corporate and individual works of charity through education sponsored public health, voluntary or missionary programs and other Catholic, private or public health care facilities.
5. To offer support in spiritual formation to Catholic chiropractors to help them follow the 'universal call to holiness' for a Christ centered professional and personal life.
Article III - Membership
Membership is open to individuals as a General Member or as an Associate Member, as elected in accordance with the bylaws of The Association for Catholic Chiropractors.
Article IV - Organization
Section 1
The Association for Catholic Chiropractors shall act through the Board of Directors, in perpetuity or until dissolved, and have all the powers vested in non-profit corporations by the State of Connecticut Non-Profit Corporation Act, in and such other powers necessary and incident to carrying out its purpose.
Section 2
The officers and members of the Board of Directors shall serve without salary.
Article V - Amendments
Proposed amendment(s) to the Constitution may originate from any member of the Association for Catholic Chiropractors by written communication to the President, who will submit amendment(s) before the next regular meeting of the Board. Upon endorsement by at least a simple majority, it will be referred to the Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
This committee will draft the proposed amendment(s) and submit its recommendations to the Board. The Board will bring it to a vote at its annual meeting.
